Od ponad dekady, Polska jako kraj oraz jej obywatele jako osoby fizyczne czy też prawne, mają coraz szerszy dostęp do korzystania z funduszy unijnych na realizację przedsięwzięć związanych szeroko pojętym zagospodarowaniem przestrzeni. Wyniki analizy przykładów tzw. dobrych praktyk potwierdzają postawioną tezę, iż szeroko pojęta efektywność zrealizowanych przedsięwzięć zasadniczo różni się w segmencie przestrzeni publicznej w stosunku do realizacji projektów przez interesariuszy prywatnych. Ponad to widoczna jest wyraźna dwubiegunowość w modelowaniu zarówno przestrzeni publicznej jak i prywatnej na terenach miejskich w porównaniu do obszarów wiejskich.

The purpose of this thesis was to examine the resilience and sustainability of rural Ethiopian livelihoods. The resilience and sustainability of livelihoods were studied in framework of food security. Preventing, coping and recovering from the shocks and stresses, in this case from drought and food insecurity, form an essential part of resilience and sustainability and therefore preventing and coping strategies were emphasized in this study. Also the effectiveness of the external aid was touched in empirical data because of its essential existence in the studied villages. The empirical data was gathered by interviewing people living in six rural villages in Hararghe zone, Eastern Ethiopia. …

In this paper we develop a relatively simple but general model describing the formation of urban agglomerations in a pre-industrial setting. Rural agglomeration on a local scale arises from the multiplication and specialization of intermediate goods and labor services, while dispersion is due to the commuting costs of agricultural workers. Urban agglomeration on a more global scale stems from the trade-off between increasing returns to scale and transport costs of goods. Tout en reprenant les enseignements de travaux de recherche conduits en France au sujet de la pauvreté et de l’intervention sociale en milieu agricole et rural, ce texte montre les conditions d’élaboration de savoirs s’appuyant sur des connaissances issues des sciences humaines et sociales et sur des observations conduites par et avec des professionnels de l’action sociale. Au-delà du repérage de situations qui caractérisent les espaces ruraux, il souligne l’apport de différentes méthodes d’investigation pour affiner le regard sur les conditions de vie des plus pauvres, les capacités d’adaptation dont ils disposent et les dispositifs qui leur sont destinés.
